QCOSTARICA by Roberto Acuña Ávalos, Vozdeguanacaste – At the height of 2015, many companies are fighting to offer the best option to consumers.However,the bus transportation from Nicoya to San Jose seems to be an exception, ignoring the fact that those who buy tickets are clients deserving excellent treatment.
In a trip, which is never shorter than four hours, there are things that don’t make sense that consumers shouldn’t put up with:
1. One cannot buy a ticket on the internet nor by telephone, so if you want to have a good seat, travelers have to go to the terminal beforehand to pay, or better yet, arrive a long time before the departure to ensure they aren’t left without a seat.
2. When buying a ticket, clients do not have the ability to choose where they will sit for four hours, nor can they choose whether to sit on an aisle or by a window.
3. Payment cannot be made with a credit card; those who do not take cash to the terminal can find themselves in serious problems.
4. Of all the daily routes there is only one that’s up-to-date that goes through the Caldera highway, which is the shortest way to get to San Jose.
5. Finding a bus with air conditioning is to have a great stroke of luck, as Nicoya is one of the hottest destinations in the country.
6. Although the seats run out, tickets are sold to those who want to stand – an imprudent practice that could cause an accident.
7. On a long trip it’s normal that people would want to go to the bathroom; however, the buses do not have them.
8. The space between seats is inadequate for a four-hour trip, which is why it is normal for passengers to disembark with achy legs, due to lack of stretching. If the person in front decides to recline their seat, the space for your legs is reduced even more.
9. Many of the windows do not work. Murphy’s Law is so firm that those who are hot cannot open their window and those who want to close their windows can’t.
10. It seems that the mechanics of the buses aren’t inspecting each vehicle before it leaves on its voyage, which is why it’s typical for buses to get stranded and for passengers’ plans to get delayed.
