(QCOSTARICA) An early morning raid of 19 properties in Alajuela, Pavas (San Jose) and La Cruz and Liberia in Guanacaste resulted in the arrest of at least 15 people, part of a criminal organization that moved illegal drugs from Costa Rica to Nicaragua.
The objective of simultaneous raids by Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) was to dismantle the organization that was responsible for getting the drugs out of Costa Rica either through the Peñas Blancas land crossing or by sea to San Juan del Sur, in Nicaragua.
Arrest were also a number of foreign nationals, Asians and South Americans.
