COSTA RICA NEWS – A passenger vehicle was struck by falling rocks Sunday morning, between kilomertes 46 and 27 of the Rut 27 (San José – Caldera), despite earlier reports to the contrary by Globalvia.
The road concessionaire (changing its name from Autopistas del Sol) said Sunday morning that no vehicles had been struck by the large rocks and earth coming off a ledge.
Posts on the social media contradicted completely the Globalvia assertions. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The incident causes tremendous backlog on the route to and from the Pacific coast, as heavy machinery and crews worked to remove the debris from the roadway,
