COSTA RICA NEWS – Traffic conditions around San José on Friday afternoon were worse than a nightmare for many drivers, especially in the west end areas of La Sabana, Rohrmoser and Escazú.

The heavy rains is being blamed for the massive traffic congestion and the five traffic accidents, including a truck trailer that caught fire on the Ruta 27, near the toll stations in Escazú and two other collisions in the area of the Gimnasio Nacional in La Sabana.

The autopista General Cañas, between the La Sabana park and La Uruca (the Heredia access) was a parking lot. Further west to the airport was not much better.
