Press Release – US Embassy, San José – A shutdown of the U.S. federal government due to a lapse in funding will not immediately impact operations at the United States Embassy in Costa Rica.

The Embassy will be open for business on Tuesday, October 1st and continue to operate until further notice.

This includes both passport and visa services.  Those with pending business with the Federal Benefits Office should check their section of the Embassy website (http://costarica.usembassy.gov/fbusanjose.html) for more detailed information on the services they will provide.
