COSTA RICA NEWS – While in 2012 a company had to pay about us$50 for the export formalities, up to September this year, that amount was us$125.
Export procedures include certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates, commercial invoices, fumigation, cargo insurance, among other things, according to the Foreign Trade Promotion Office (Procomer).
Lander Roman, an export logistics analyst at Procomer told Nacion.com that “… Export Logistics costs on home soil for entrepreneurs rose by 45.23% between 2012 and 2014 … The numbers that we are providing are given by the same providers of transportation, which gives credibility to these increases. ”
‘… Other items that have also increased in the last two years are related to security of the cargo, ie the protection that is given locally to goods. The variation in this line has risen by 40% in the same period.
