Lira-Tribunal-Turrialba-Police are out in full force looking for fugitive Wilberto Lira, who escaped on Sunday from the minimum security prison in Pococi.

60 officials are stopping traffic in the area and hoping to contain Lira, who was serving a 40 month sentence for aggravated robbery.

According to Pablo Bertozzi, director of the Penitentiary Police the prisoner worked as a cook in the prison and “those who work in the center are kept apart, in an area of minimum security and he took advantage of the dark.

His profile in the penitentiary is of someone who doesn’t cause problems. However, now he is a fugitive from justice, and we don’t know how he will behave, so everyone should take precautions.”
