UPDATED 8:33am – ICE announced that the “Gran Venta Nocturna” will start at 8pm in stores in San José, Heredia, Alajuela, Perez Zeledon, Cuidad Nelly, Cartago, Santa Cruz (Guanacaste), Guapiles, Cuidad Quesada (San Carlos) and Puntarenas.

At Claro, the iPhone  will be available starting at midnight at the Paseo de las Flores (Heredia) and Multiplaza Escazú stores.

More updates, ie prices and plans, will be posted here if and when they are made available.

COSTA RICA TECH NEWS — As expected, the iPhone 6 arrives in Costa Rica tomorrow, November 14.

To meet the anticipated demand for Apple’s latest phones, both the state telecom, ICE and rival, Claro will open stores at midnight tonight.

As of this morning, neither operator were forthcoming with details about prices and which stores will be open. No word yet about the iPhone 6 over at Movistar.

In a media hype, ICE said it will open 25 Kolbi stores, like the Sabana Sur, Sabana Norte, Multiplaza Escazú, Terramall, Plaza Occidente and San José. It will be holding a press conference tonight at 7:30pm at the main offices in Sabana norte.

Neither company has yet revealed details on pricing and plans.
