TODAY COLOMBIA — Miss Colombia’s Ariadna Gutierrez, had it, the Miss Universer crown, for one shining moment … that is, until Steve Harvey walked back with his tail between his legs to explain to everyone — to the universe, even — that he crowned the wrong winner.

The rightful of the owner was, in fact, Miss Philippines 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.

“I’d like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible,” Harvey tweeted.

Harvey owned up to the mistake, saying that he would take responsibility for not reading the card correctly, which is kind of an odd thing to say because who else, Steve, would be taking responsibility for this?

Though he did in a span of four minutes, which by today’s standards counts for something (right?).

This is pretty painful by anyone’s standards.
