QCOSTARICA – If you can hold off filling the gas tank a few days you can save up to ¢49 colones a litre, when the price drop approved by the Autoridad Reguladora de los Servicios Públicos (Aresep) takes effect.
The regulatory body this morning approved a reduction of gasoline prices at the pump of ¢43 colones for a litre of super, ¢49 for regular or plus and ¢48 for diesel.
The reduction is based the drop of oil prices on international markets during the past several weeks.
The new prices take effect the at 12:01am of the day following the publication in La Gaceta – the official government newsletter – which can occur up to five business days.
The new prices will be ¢537 from ¢580 for regular, ¢503 from ¢552 for regular and ¢474 from ¢522 for diesel. The price of LPG of propane and other fuels, ie. aviation fuel and kerosene, will also drop.
This will be second price drop this month, the last occurring on January 15.
