COSTA RICA NEWS – It’s been twelve days since six year old Yerelyn Guzmán Calvo went missing.

The intense search by police and volunteers on the ground, in empty lots, creeks and rivers near the family home in San Martín de Santa Rosa de Santo Domingo de Heredia., has come up empty.

On Tuesday, Franciso Segura, director of the Organismo de Investigacion Judicial (OIJ), said they have been following up leads, one them of truck driver who authorities have now ruled out, since he was out of the country the day the Yerelyn went missing and has yet to return to Costa Rica.

Immigration records indicate that the man, whose identity was not released to the public, was in Guatemala the Friday Yerelyn disappeared. “We have proof that on the day of the disappearance he was in Guatemala.” said Segura.

Meanwhile, Jorge Guzmán Benavides and Hellen Calvo Bolaños, parents of Yerelyn, say they have not given up hope that their daughter will be found and alive,

Yerelyn went missing on Friday, July 11, shortly after 6:00pm, was seen in the company of her father’s 23 year old cousin. The OIJ was able to confirm based on security camera video of a door manufacturing company.

“In the video we see the girl walking with the subject, who was later arrested on a complaint of abuse of brothers of the girl,” said Segura.

The OIJ report at least 100 reports from the public. All the calls are being handled in confidence.
