presa-trafico-Platina-transito_QCOSTARICA – The autopista General Cañas in the area of the “Platina” bridge, over the Virilla river, will BE CLOSED tonight (Wednesday), says the Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (Conavi).

The closure, from 10:00pm to 5:00am Thursday, is to continue the repair on the metal plate (platina) that has been the cause of the major problems on the old bridge.

According to the Conavi, if weather conditions permit, crews will be reinforcing the steel sheets that have been placed in the hollow grate of the bridge.

The closure will affect the San Jose – Alajuela direction. Cristian Vargas, construction manager for the Conavi, said the Alajuela – San Jose direction will be open.
