Greene was reported missing Sunday afternoon around 5:00pm. Authorities believe he was dragged out to sea by a rip current.

Also on Sunday (September 7),  19 year-old Beger Jonas Maximilian, a German national visiting Costa Rica, also went missing in the area of the Portalón riven, in Quepos. The disappearance was reported around 1:00pm after the young man was last seen swimming in the river. His body was recovered Monday morning by divers.
