A 22 year old man identified by his last name  Rojas Fernández, died Tuesday after a shootout outside a bar in downtown Heredia, according to police.

In addition, two other men were injured, identified with the surname Rodríguez and Aguilar Mendez Vargas, both 21.

Apparently, an argument between the men esclated into a hail of bullets.

The reason(s) for the altercation are unknown.

As reported by the Red Cross, the three men was injured on a public street and were taken to St. Vincent de Paul hospital. Rojas Fernández died minutes after being admitted to the medical centre.

The name of the bar and other details were withheld by police who are now investigating.
