QCOSTARICA – The road rage between two tow-truck drivers in Escazú last Sunday didn’t end there.
Apparently, after the violent acts caught on video, one of the drivers followed the other to a point near Alajuelita, ending up with one of them beaten unconscious and requiring hospitalization.
Eliezer Carvajal is the ow-truck driver taken to hospital with a broken nose, dislocated jaw and injuries from blows to the arms and head. His brain was swollen.

The injuries sustained were so severe that this morning (Tuesday) he was submitted to facial reconstruction surgery performed at the Caldero Guardia hospital.
Carvajal’s stepdaughter, Karla Villalobos, confirmed the information to Crhoy.com, the source that broke the story on Monday after receiving a video from a reader.
Villalobos said her stepfather was first taken to the San Juan de Dios hospital, but due to the complexity of his injuries was transferred to the Calderon Guardia. “He is in serious condition”, said Villalobos.
According to Villalobos, the problem between her stepfather and the other tow-truck driver began five days ago, when Carvajal helped a stranded young man, unaware that another “Gruero” (tow-trucker) had been called.
It is yet still unknown how and why the two “grueros” met up on Sunday and at what point the problem escalated to a violent conflict. Villalobos added that her stepfather was on his way to Escazu to pick up his wife, Villalobos’ mother.
The case is now in the hands of the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ).
