QCOSTARICA – As per tradition, December 26 in San Jose is the day of the Tope, a day when the horses and their riders take to the streets of the city.

Though it was kind of chilly and sun only made it through the cloudy skies for brief periods of time, the Tope 2015 dazzled the both children and adults, entire families and group of friends, lining both sides of Paseo Colon and Avenida Segunda, from La Sabana to the Plaza de la Democracia.

Many more were at home watching the event on television.

But it wasn’t just horses. There was music, oxen and their carts, even buffalos in the national celebration.
