85 years ago, Don Francisco Llobet Matalonga and his sons, Juan y José, founded the Tienda Llobet, a textile store serving both retail and wholesale customers.
It was on July 13, 1934, when Don Francisco and his sons opened the doors to the Almacén y Tienda Francisco Llobet E Hijos, Ltda. for the first time in a local market in Alajuela.
Don Francisco died on June 4, 1955, after a long illness, but his sons did not lose the soul or the spirit that their father had instilled in them.
Today, the Tienda Llobet is more than textiles, it has become a department store for men, women and children’s clothing and shoes. Their wholesale division also includes home and hotel furnishings and a distributor for toys.
Here some photos from Tienda Lobet’s post on Facebook.
