QTRAVEL – Air Canada announced today it will launch four new seasonal Air Canada rouge services, including Montreal – San José (SJO), Costa Rica.

The other flights are Montreal-Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; Toronto Palm Springs, California; and Toronto-Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

The non-stop flights will give Canadian travelers more competitively-priced options when flying to sun destinations beginning winter 2016-2017.

“Air Canada is solidifying its position in the Canadian leisure market by offering more flights to more sun destinations during the 2016-2017 winter season…Flights are timed to optimize connectivity for travelers from all across Quebec and Eastern Canada looking to escape the Canadian winter,” said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada.

“All Air Canada rouge flights provide for Aeroplan accumulation and redemption and, for eligible customers, priority check-in, Maple Leaf Lounge access, priority boarding and other benefits.”

Costa Rica Route Details: Montreal-San José, Costa Rica service begins December 22, 2016, subject to government approval, with flight AC1844 and operates twice weekly departing Montreal at 07:40 on Thursday and Sunday, arriving in San José at 12:14. Return flight AC1845 departs San José at 13:35 and arrives in Montreal at 19:47.

Service ends for the season on April 16, 2017.

Flights will be operated by Air Canada rouge, Air Canada’s leisure carrier using a 282-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft offering a choice of premium and economy cabins. Flights are timed to offer convenient connections to/from Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick as well as Quebec-City, Ottawa and Toronto.
