Starting in December, Canadian visitors will have more flight options to visit Costa Rica with a new “triangular” route that will connect Vancour with San jose and Liberia.
The new route is offered by Air Transat, starting on December 18, 2019 and through April 25, 2020, the peak tourist season.
Flights will be twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The flight will depart from Vancouver at 6.30 am local time and arrive in Liberia’s Daniel Oduber international airport (LIR) at 5.25 pm Costa Rican time, with a stop at the Juan Santamaria (San Jose) internaational airport (SJO) first.
Subsequently, the aircraft will leave for Canada at 6.40 pm and will arrive at Vancuver at 12:20 midnight, local time.
An important point is that the trip can start or end with the same ticket, despite having these stops.
“This is an opportunity to multiply the visitation, generate employment and strengthen Costa Rica as a tourist destination,” said Maria Amalia Revelo, Minister of Tourism.
Air Transat currently flies to Montreal (twice a week) and Toronto (three times) from San Jose; while it has two weekly flights to each of those destinations, but from Liberia.
