The Ministerio de Seguridad Pública (MSP) – Ministry of Public Security – will denounce before the Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía General) and the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) a series of audios that circulate, since this Sunday in social networks, of  death threats against President Carlos Alvarado Quesada and attacks on the media.

Authorities have not yet confirmed if the photo of the woman appearing on the Facebook page is the voice of the woman in the audios. See the video below.

This was confirmed by MSP Minister Michael Soto, who said that all the evidence so far will be submitted to the OIJ investigator and AG’s office to file charges.

“We are going to transcribe the audios. The Judicial Police has specialized voice comparison software, with that it will be possible to determine if the audio voice corresponds to the person who appears in the photograph (in the social media), because at the moment we cannot affirm that it is the same person, for that we must do the investigation,” Soto explained.

The photo of the alleged educator who is believed to be responsible for the message appeared on a Facebook page, Futuro CR. However, authorities have so far not been able to confirm that the photo is of the woman, nor has the woman herself referred to the mater.

Soto explained, in the audio, a female voice is heard that asserts that the President must be shot. “This mf***… he has to be short in the head (…).”

The alleged teacher says that “as long as nobody is encouraged to shoot him (President Alvarado) out of the Casa Presidencial, nothing will be done.”

“Please, you don’t have to have a huge weaponry to fight this guy. Here they sell everything you need to make bombs. On the Internet, it says how to make them. So? Diay, the truth is that we can even make them homemade to see who wins, if they see an angry people we will see what they are going to do,” is part of the message.

What is said in the audios?

In two disseminated audios, in the first instance on a Facebook page, a woman who identifies herself as a fifth-grade teacher with 22 years of experience is heard affirming that there is a “lack of civility”, but that “words will not achieve absolutely nothing.”

In addition, the woman attacks the daily La Nación and television station Teletica (that was bombed Saturday night).

“It is time to put a bomb on this mf***… of La Nación, put a bomb on the mf***… of Channel 7 and start scaring them, to apply the same thing that they apply to the people, that they see that the people are encouraged to do more things (…).

Authorities say the information that the woman is calling herself Huelga Nacional#2 (National Strike #2) in a WhatsApp chat, a group used by several educators.

In one of the audios, the woman tells the supposed WhatsApp group that they should not publish anything on social networks, because she says: “If you do something, do it in silence, in the early morning, where nobody will see you and then disrupted things appearing, it’s that simple. He (the President) is going to know very well who it is, but he can’t blame anyone.”
