The Ministry of Finance (Ministerio de Hacienda) said ti will suspend this weekend the ATV (Virtual Tax Administration) and the TICA (Information Technology for Customs Control) to make available to taxpayers new forms to be used, starting July 1, with the entry into force of the Value Added Tax (VAT) and the modifications to income tax.

The ATV tax system will not be available on June 29 and 30; the TICA will be suspended on Sunday, June 30.

“Because the changes apply starting July 1, we can not publish new or current forms that need to be modified before, because this would create confusion among taxpayers,” Hacienda said in a statement.

Hacienda also informed, on Monday, June 24, that it made available the email factura@hacienda.go.cr for queries related to electronic invoicing, by software developers.

In addition, in the middle of this week Hacienda will make available a step-by-step guide to the new D-104 form, corresponding to the declaration of the Value Added Tax (VAT), in order to facilitate the taxpayer’s understanding to filling out the form.
