QCOSTARICA | The Colombian airline and a major airline in Central America, Avianca, announced a refund or penalty waiver for passengers diagnosed with the Zika virus, pregnant women and their travel companions.

The airline said for passengers scheduled to travel between January 28 and February 29 and have been diagnosed with Zika, can obtain a full refund with the presentation of valid medical evidence of the diagnosis.

For the refund or waiver of penalties, pregnant women must present medical documentation of their pregnancy. The policy for pregnant women applies to travel to and/or from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Dominican Republic, Guyana, French Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Barbados, Guadeloupe, Haiti Virgin Islands of the United States, Martinique, Puerto Rico and San Martin.
