QCOSTARICA – Costa Rica’s cable and television station operator, Cabletica has launched mobile telephony services through a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) scheme, Telesemana reports.
The operator also provides cable TV, broadband and voice services through IP technology. The new MVNO service will be offered through state-run operator ICE’s network.
In much the same way of Tuyo Móvil (also owned by Cabletica) will be a prepaid service, primarily for its existing customers.
The operator plans to offer plans ranging from ¢4.000 colones for 60 minutes of voice, 350 SMS messages and 1Gb of internet, up to ¢25.000 colones for 715 minutes of voice, 5.000 SMS and 6Gb of internet.
“The acceptance has been very good, and we have several sales channels, distributors and are opening several new branches,” said Carlos Fernández, commercial manager of Teletica Mobile.
