QCOSTARICA (Elfinancierocr.om) Zollner Elektronik AG Germany has invested US$15 million in a manufacturing plant in the province of Cartago, where it will produce printed circuit boards for industrial equipment.
In June there are plans to inject an additional US$2.5 million as part of the arrival of a new manufacturing line. The plant will also be the first to open its doors in the Industrial Park La Lima, Cartago. Currently it covers an area of over 8,300 square meters.
Zollner is one of the largest providers of Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) in the world. In Costa Rica they will manufacture printed circuit boards for sectors such as industrial, automotive, office electronics, medical, information technology and measurement equipment.
The arrival of a new manufacturing line in June is just the beginning of the growth plans in the country. Looking to 2017, the company plans to establish a center for strategic support for continental operations and the rest of the world, concentrating on accounting and financial services, engineering and component quality, traceability, engineering design and product development, testing, purchasing and supplements, which represent more future job opportunities in other professional fields.
