QCOSTARICA – With a sandal, pvc pipes and other recycled materials, Charlie Street Drummer entertains street crowds in downtown San Jose Alajuela, and Cartago, among other places where people walk by.

Charlie Street Drummer was born from the need to do something for the planet and as an example to society, that believe plastic cans, damaged drum cymbals, pvc pipes, slippers and many other materials are rubbish.

“I believe that we can reuse (recycle) these materials and much more,” Charlie told the El Alajuense newspaper earlier this month.

“Everything started in the central park of Heredia, it was a bit difficult as it was not very common to see a young man in the middle park playing a recycled drum set, then I decided to start going to different places like San Jose, Cartago, Jaco and my beautiful Alajuela.
