It doesn't get this cold in Costa Rica, but it sure can feel like it! Brrrrrrr
It doesn’t get this cold in Costa Rica, but it sure can feel like it! Brrrrrrr

Just when you thought the rain season was gone, the rains poured on San José again. But not to worry, this is all art of the seasonal climatic changes, the first cold spell that follows the end of the rainy season.

Cold winds and rain all day – it’s been raining since late Wednesday night and has continued on and off since – a phenomenon we can blame our neighbours to the north (US and Canada).

The cold and rain are expected to last into the weekend.

Most affected are the Central Valley, Guanacaste and the mountainous areas around the country.

The next cold spell is due around Christmas/New Year, where we won’t see rain, but cold winds and temperature drops of several degrees from normal.
