Q24N (Prensa Latina) Havana – Cuba will never give up Socialism, said in this capital today the head of the International Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba, Jose Ramon Balaguer.

In his opening speech of the 20th International Seminar “The Political parties and a New Society,” organized by the Labor Party of Mexico (PT), Balaguer stressed that Socialism is the only alternative for the Cuban Revolution.

Before more than one hundred representatives of political parties and social organizations of different countries, Balaguer denounced that he described as an imperial onslaught against progressive goverments and processes in Latin America.

He reiterated Cuba’s support to the Bolivarian Revolution and the Government of President Nicolas Maduro in Venezuela, who is facing economic, media and psychological aggression.

He urged political forces and social movements to join hands to resist the adverse current situation and “march united in this emancipation effort.”

He denounced the “so-called free trade agreements, whch constitute instruments of political domination and impose harmful conditions on Third World Countries.

The holding of the 7th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba will mark the guidelines of the Socialist path and the program of economic and social development through 2030 in Cuba, he noted.

He stressed that Cuba is resisting the US blockade, which remains intact despite the resumption of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The end of the US blockade, the devolution of the territory usurped by the US naval base of Guantanamo and the compensation for damages caused by the US aggressive policy are Cuban people’s claims, he stressed.

The three-day international forum organized by Mexico’s PT is discussing topics like the revolutionary forces’ response to “the imperialist counteroffensive,” the new modalities of the world economic crisis, and the experiences in countries like Venezuela, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia, among others.
