COSTA RICA TOURISM — Foreign and local tourists will have the option of a double decker bus of their tour of downtown San José starting December 16, similar to tours in New York and London.

VIP City Bus is the company that offers the two hour tour on Tuesdays and Sundays, with two tours daily, the first starting at 10:30am, the second at 2:00pm.

“The purpose is to woo foreign tourists and Costa Ricans, who believe that the city (of San José) is not a tourist attraction,” explained Bryan Rojas, owner of the tour company.

The price is US$60 for foreigners and US$30 for locals, that includes a welcome cocktail, a bilingual guide, lunch and a marimba show. Tourists who don’t want lunch can save US$10.

The tour starts and ends at Parque Perú, in Rohrmoser/Sabana (one block west and one block south fo the national stadium).

The tour will include sights such as the Teatro Nacional, the Catedral Metropolitana, Museo de Oro, Plaza de la Cultura, Plaza de la Democracia, Asamblea Legislativa, among others.

For more information, visit the VIP City Bus website.
