QCOSTARICA – A group of yet to be unidentified drug traffickers used the facade of an evangelical church, in the centre of Escazú, as a hydroponic laboratory to grow marijuana.
According to the Ministerio de Seguridad Publica (MSP), the property had been used as a church for several months, but the new tenants – the drug traffickers – didn’t bother to take the down the sign.
The Drug Control Police (Policía de Control de Drogas -PCD) discovered the illicit drug operation after a strong marijuana ordor was detected Sunday night. The raid netted a haul of 226 marijuana plants. Police also found 69 9mm and 10 .38 caliber rounds and eight kilos of ready to use marijuana.

No one was found in the premises during the police raid.
