QCOSTARICA EDITORIAL – It is interesting to review the Blogs on the Q, to note that in many instances, the bloggers have it right well before the mainstream national press such as the newspaper “La Nacion”, the most respected mainstream Spanish language news source in Costa Rica.

A case in point, is reported today in La Nacion, that the Sala IV (Constitutional Court) had struck down the veto signed by President Guillermo Solis in December 2014, permitting strikes by essential Public Services, such as the police, etc.

Attorney Rick Philps, one of the regular contributors to this site as a blogger, posted a blog on December 13, 2014, entitled, “The Presidential Decree Permitting Strikes in Essential Services“, which reviewed the legalities of the President’s action and accurately predicted the eventual legal outcome, which is reported today as the headline in La Nacion.  The Q report is here.

No other mainstream news source, or otherwise, reviewed this matter at the time of the President’s action in December, 2014, nor have they reported on the issue until today….

The Q is not just about reporting the news. It is informative. It is edgy. Different. Ahead of its time! The Q Blogs is an invaluable part, offering valid opinions from a select group of knowledgable and professional people on topical issues affecting foreigners, mainly North American expats, living in Costa Rica.

Thank you for your support during the last couple of years of being online.
