COSTA RICA NEWS – The 2014 edition of ExpoCasa, the annula housing fair, kicks off tomorrow, bringing real estate developers, financiers and buyers together under one roof of the Eventos Pedregal, in Belén de Heredia.
The housing fair, that runs August 20 to 24, aims to provide consumers the tools to review the different housing options, financing deals and the latest in household innovations, such as energy efficient appliances, solar panels and other household goods.
Some financial institutions will be offering up to 100% financing for a new home, for terms of up to 30 years, with interest rates as low as 8% fixed for five years.
Some of the banks, like Davivienda have up to 50 real estate projects prequalified, allowing buyers easy access to finance their purcahse. Scotiabank says it has set up a digital prequalification portal on its website.
And there are prizes. Bancredito, for example, is raffling off an all paid trip to Europe and dinner with Kyelor Navas, the star goalies of the 2014 World Cup. Other prizes include flat screens.
To get the most of the event, experts recommend consumers come prepared to ask questions and compare buying and financing options.
The cost to enter the ExpoCasa fair is free on Wednesday, then ¢1.000 colones for Thursday and Friday and ¢2.000 on Saturday and Sunday.
