The Bosch service centre is in the Zona Franca América (America Free Zone), located in Heredia.

“Heredia, with its state of the art infrastructure and high availability of quality talents prepared with linguistic diversity at an excellent level, will provide a good operational basis,” says Paulo Maia, General Manager of Robert Bosch Service Solutions in Costa Rica.

The new service centre will provide services in the finance area for general accounting and financial reporting, accounts payables and receivable management, travel and expense management, general ledger and fixed assets accounting for the Bosch Group in North America. The centre will also provide technical support for Bosch security and communication products for the North America market. Initially it will offer its services in Spanish and English.

Costa Rica President Luis Guillermo Solis expressed his satisfaction with the announcement. “We welcome the decision of Bosch to establish a shared services operation in Costa Rica. This showcases the recognition of international investment about the opportunities to grow in the country, which translate in quality employments and will benefit both parts.”

The Minister of Foreign Trade, Alexander Mora, said “the opening of Bosch’s new Service Centre is certainly excellent news, with positive implications for the generation of quality jobs for our people. We welcome the decision of the company and appreciate Bosch’s confidence in the country. Bosch is confirming, once again, we are a very attractive place for business process outsourcing and not in vain we remain outstanding as the first destination in Latin America and the eleventh in the world in this field; it is a very strong track record. We applaud your effort and wish you success in your management”.

Jorge Sequeira, the Manager Director of CINDE – the Costa Rican investment promotion agency – said, “Bosch joins the list of more than 120 companies that exist in the area of corporate services, today being the fourth German company in this sector in Costa Rica”.

In addition, 50% of the jobs created in free zones in the same year also came from this sector.

“For Costa Rica and its human talent it is of vital importance that renowned companies like Bosch trust our country to grow their global operations,” added Sequiera.

To commemorate this important milestone of the service centre opening and following company social responsibility, the Bosch Community Fund has made a contribution of US$10,000 to the Costa Rican Fundación Omar Dengo.
