COSTA RICA NEWS – Great news everyone, this morning, the price of a litre of gasoline has dropped ¢68 colones for super, ¢65 for regular and ¢29 for diesel.

Although Costa Rica still has one of the highest gasoline prices in the region, the drop is a welcome relief.

The new prices at the pump today (Friday, December 5, 2014) are ¢689 for a litre of super, ¢655 for regular and ¢607 for diesel.

RECOPE, the state petrolium company, says the drop is based on the drop in oil prices on international markets and the drop in the dollar exchange rate.

Whatever the reason, we can only hope this is a trend that will lead to lower gasoline prices in the country.
