QCOSTARICA | At least 1,400 passengers arriving at the Juan Santamaria (San Jose) international airport on Monday were affected by a failure in the Interpol system, delaying their entry into the country.
Silvia Chaves, spokesperson for the airport administration, Aeris Holding, confirmed that problem, forcing immigration officials to do a manual review of each passenger.
The system failure was around 11:12am, the start of the high traffic period, affecting some 15 flights. The system was restored an hour later, at 12:14pm.

By 3:00pm all arriving passengers had entered the country.
The check of the International Police database allows authorities to identity if a passenger has an international arrest warrant.
