TODAY NICARAGUA NEWS — Coordinadora del Consejo de Comunicación y Ciudadanía (Coordinator of the Communication and Citizenship Council), Rosario Murillo, gave a new report on the damages from the rains and said that the Sandinista government remains active providing humanitarian assistance.
In communication with the people through the media, Murillo said that some 1.200 families, more than 6.000 people affected by the rains.
The municipalities of Rivas, Moyogalpa, Altagracia, Potosí, Belén, Nandaime, El Viejo, San Carlos, Paiwas, Morrito, Granada, Chinandega, Riao San Juan and San Miguelito. Affected are 41 communities that have suffered damage, most are in Rivas and Granada.
Murillo said that we cannot forget that the rains left behind the death of 5 year old Alejandra Petrona Castro. A total of 22 shelters are helping people.
