For the 81.000 vehicles travelling day on the Circunvalación there is no way to avoid congestion, that since yesterday, once again caused by road problems between Pavas and Hatillo 8.

The lack of an alternate route is causing tremendous congestion as workers removed one of the four Bailey bridges to allow work crews to continue with the construction of a permanent bridge over the Maria Aguilar river.

This weekend, the second Bailey bridge will be removed, causing even more congestion next week. It won’t be until mid March before the two lanes with the temporary structures will be re-opened with a permanent bridge.

And then the whole process starts again with the other two remaining Baileys.

Traffic officials will be monitoring traffic on the Circunvalación, Sabana Sur and the Alajueliata radial to maintain traffic flowing.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area, if possible, during peak hours in the mornings and afternoons.
