Laws on Incentives for Tourism Investment

In recent years, Panama has seen a boom in the tourism sector; coupled with the development of economic policies which promote investment across the country.

Today there are regulations which encourage foreign investment in the tourism sector. These are mainly regulated by Law No. 80 of 8 NOVEMBER 2012 which defines all of the incentives for foreign investments, as well as other laws that complement these incentives with the main objective of increasing tourism development in our country.

Laws which encourage tourism investment in Panama:

  • Promotion of tourism activities (Law 80)
  • Tourism investment protection
  • Streamlining starting up a company s
  • Regulation of concessions and alienation of land for tourism investment.
