QCOSTARICA – The American pharmaceutical Pfizer has announced the consolidation and expansion of its Global Shared Financial Services Centre in Costa Rica.
On Tuesday, Pfizer said it would be hiring about 200 new employees at its new building to be located in Avenida Escazu.
“The opening is due to a vote confidence in the last three years, since starting operations in the country, because Costa Rica is a good place to continue investing,” said Fabricio Stone, head of the Service Centre.
Stone added that good results, a competitive environment, knowledge of languages and costs, are some of the reasons why the US pharmaceutical will invest US$3 million dollars in infrastructure.
The new Costa Rica centre will provide services to Latin American countries. In addition, Pfizer hopes to create a Centre of Excellence to support European countries and expand services equally to the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
“We are currently in the process of finding talent and resources to implement these services, we are in the planning stage to start with the support model in June,” said Stone.
