The suspect, identified by his last names Espinoza Martínez, in the killing Carla Stefaniak will continue at least 3 more months in preventive detention (prison).
Espinoza Martínez, 32, was arrested on December 4, 2018, as the only one accused of the murder the Venezuelan-American tourist when she stayed at the San Antonio de Escazú Airbnb, on November 27, to spend his last night in the country.
The suspect worked at the property as a security guard.
One of the aspects that most intrigues the victim’s lawyer, Joseph Rivera, in statements that he gave to Extra TV 42, is that, according to the story by the suspect, parties and activities with some sexual connotation – including drug use – were usual among the guests at the villas.
Espinoza Martínez has told investigators that he should keep “strict confidentiality” of what he saw inside the property.
