The Fiscalía Adjunta de Pococí (Deputy Prosecutor’s Office of Pococí) will request this Wednesday six months of preventive detention against the suspect of murdering the Spanish tourist, last August 4 in Tortuguero.

The Public Ministry will request the precautionary measure after an analysis of DNA and other evidence by the Organismo de Investigacion Judicial (OIJ) in the murder of Arancha Gutiérrez López.

Diaz, two days after the murder, had been set free by the Pococi Criminal Court for lack of evidence but handed over to immigration officials due to his illegal stay in the country.
