Many singer-songwriters specializing in romantic songs risk easily falling into a cloying terrain, where cheesy lyrics abound and simplistic musical ideas are repeated.
However, in the case of Bryan Adams, it doesn’t apply, says Arturo Pardo, music critic for La Nacion.
“Although his compositions are very accessible, with sticky and simple melodies (what is known as easy listening), they carry a special charm that saves them from becoming annoying songs,” writes Pardo.
According to the promoter, Move Concerts Costa Rica, some 5,500 Bryan Adams fans braved the chilly night (and the threat of rain) for the two-hour-long concert.
Adams and his band took the stage at 8:00 pm.
