QCOSTARICA – Pedestrian overpasses, bridges and a boulevard are part of the works to be undertaken in the coming months on the radial, the entry road to Alajuela, part of a series of changes with the development of City Mall.
The mayor of Alajuela, Roberto Thompson, said the changes are to part of a series of improvements to facilitate entry into the city.
The work is scheduled to take between four and six months and is pending approval by the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT), according to mayor Thompson.
The municipality also plans to add a boulevard (pedestrian walkway) in the city centre and around City Mall, in addition to a new bridge over the Ciruelas river, and another pedestrian overpass in the area of Mango Plaza.
City Mall will be the biggest commercial centre in Costa Rica and Central America, at over than 200.000 square metres.

The mayor did not say the cost of the works, only that they will be ready for October, coinciding with the opening of City Mall.
