QCOSTARICA – Be prepared for more ashfall following the latest eruption of the Turrialba volcano around noon today, Monday.

According to the Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORI) the ashfall will likely be felt in many area of the Central Valley, depending on the winds and the rains.

The OVSICORI and the Red Sismológica Nacional (RSN) are still compiling date over the 11:58am eruption and an increase in volcanic tremors.

The Comision Nacional de Emergencias (CNE) said on its Facebook page that it is maintaining a constant monitoring of the behaviour and eruptive evolution of the volcano, in conjunction with experts of the Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), the Universidad Nacional (UNA), and theComité Municipal de Emergencias de Turrialba (CME).

Last week, ashfall from the eruption on reached places like Santa Ana and Alajuela.
