QCOSTARICA – Unforgettable Costa Rica is a campaign by Paniamor, the ICT and the National Chamber of Tourism to discourage sex tourism and warn tourists that having sex with minors is a punishable offence by imprisonment.
The website www.unforgettablecostarica.com offers beaches, a tropical atmosphere and the promise of child sex tourism.
But as one explores the options, they find the reality that the room is a prison cell, the view of palm trees is through a metal fence, the spa is really a communal bathroom, fine Costa Rican dining is food served on a tray with plastic cutlery and recreational activities are a fenced in concrete exercise yard.
“Hi there in Costa Rica greetings from Costa Rica”, is the pop up window as you enter the site.

“You are welcome to enjoy the beautiful nature of our country and experience the kindness of our people. Be aware that any sexual activity involving children and youth under 18 years old could send you to jail for at least ten years or more,” is the warning.
The website design is that of a typical travel website with a menu to the accommodations, dining and nightlife, spa & wellness, etc. Other buttons links, also typical of travel website, include making reservation and weather information (though those links are not active).
