The US conglomerate Sanford Health acquired 12.5% stake in the Montecristo Grou, whose portfolio includes the Hospital Metropolitano, MediSmart, Labiclin, Drs. Dent and Laboratorios Páez.
In January 2018, Sanford and the Hospital Metropolitano signed a cooperation agreement to exchange knowledge in operational activities, personnel training and development of centers of excellence.
Through a press release, both companies indicated that the agreement will contribute to the opening of more locations, the expansion of services within the current service points in Costa Rica and the training for medical personnel.
