TICOBULL – It’s one of the internet’s open secrets that if you don’t live in the US, but wish you did because of access to better online content.
Watching online programs from Costa Rica can be frustrating in that many sources block out the country, or in the case like Netflix, the selection of programs is limited when compared to the US location listing.
To get around the blocking we are forced to become “geo-pirates”, that is use a VPN ‘Pirating’ or IP Masking – a process of bypassing bans or blacklisting of Costa Rica’s IP addresses.
When you are online, your computer has a unique identifying IP address just like your home address, alerting everyone to who you are and where you are located. When you shopping online or sending emails, your IP is associated with that activity, and it identifies you personally.
IP or VPN masks can be free or you can pay for the service. The free services are good, but for best results a paid service is the only way.
Enter Google Chrome. And best it’s FREE!
Built in to the Chrome browser is Hola Better Internet, a hugely popular Chrome extension, that allows you to choose your country (for content delivery) and get around the geo-blockers.
For example, choosing “US”, as far as the world knows your computer is now accessing the World Wide Web from the United States, allowing you access to all the content as if you where actually there.
Enjoy.
