QCOSTARICA – Protesting against the actions of the traffic police for confiscating her taxi plates – and Uber of course – a woman draped herself in the flag of Costa Rica and chained herself to a tree in front of the condo where President Luis Guillermo Solis lives.
Virginia Moreira, didn’t seem to mind the sun, cold, drizzle and police presence generated in front of the President’s residence in Barrio Escalante, San Pedro.
Under the flag she wore a coat, gloves to keep her hands warm, braving the cold weather, she said she would not move until the President saw her.
By 11:00am a group of fellow taxi drivers accompanied the woman, who continued in her chains.
Moreira told anyone who would listen to her, her story of Traffic official confiscated her taxi license plates on Tuesday, for her year 2000 model vehicle being too old to be in circulation as a public service vehicle.
Moreira was also one of the many participating in last week’s protest by taxi drivers in front of Casa Presidencial.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned…
