Traffic Signals To Avoid Collisions At Train Crossings (Video)

The new traffic signals that will be installed at railways crossings around San José to avoid more collisions.


The Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transports (MOPT) announced 29 signals at key train intersections will be getting the signals, after the occurrence of three separate accidents on three consecutive days involving the commuter train.

The video is the first signal that is installed in the area of Plaza Viquez, near the near the Traffic Control Centre.

  1. The trains have been running for almost 2 years now, not all routes, but some routes started again about 2 years ago, or more. No signals. What were they thinking? The tracks I crossed were out aways on
    Ave 2 as it leads out to Curribidat. Pitch black where the train crosses. All of a sudden a friggin locomotive appears out of no where in the pouring rain! love CR and its oddities, often makes it interesting, but this idiocy is as bad as CR can get.
