COSTA RICA NEWS – Wyndham hotels and resorts announced it is planning to expand its presence in Costa Rica with the Wyndham Papagayo Yu Resort in Guanacaste.
Following the signing of a franchise agreement, the 151-room hotel, is set to open by the end of 2015.
It will be a mixed-use property affiliated with vacation ownership company RCI and Wyndham Exchange & Rentals.
The resort will be located on Playa Panama in Guanacaste, an area known for pristine beaches, world-class surfing and lively culture, about 20 kilometres from Daniel Oduber International (LIR) airport in Liberia.
Resort services and amenities will include two on-site restaurants, shops, a pool, sports courts, a gym and a spa. All guest accommodations, comprised of standard and junior suites, will offer ocean views.

Wyndham Hotels and Resorts is a group of chains of hotels and resorts located mainly in the United States and Canada, but also in Mexico, Ecuador, Turkey, Germany, UK and the Caribbean.
In Costa Rica, Wyndham operates the Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center (formerly the Radisson Herradura and Herraduta hotel), close to the Juan Santamaria international airport (SJO), the Wyndham Garden in Escazú (next ot the EPA store).
The Guanacaste property will the first Wyndhan resort in Costa Rica. This is not to be confused with some reports that say it is Wyndham’s first hotel in the country.
