QCOSTARICA – It’s being a called a tough group, Group A of the Copa America 2016 pooling Costa Rica with Colombia, the United States and Paraguay, the strongest team of the four.

This year the U.S. will host the ‘Centenario’, a special edition of the games to mark the 100 years of the Copa America, making it the oldest international continental soccer competition.

During the Copa America, 32 games will be played throughout the U.S. from June 3 to 26, 2016. Ten U.S. cities with stadium seating capacity over 50,000 will host the matches, with 16 teams from the Americas competing. This Copa America 2016 will be the first time the games are hosted outside of South America.

The country with the most Copa America wins is Argentina with 15. Costa Rica, also a CONCACAF Regional Cup winner, has 2 Copa America wins. Costa Rica is expected to play well even if they’ve lost on American soil a lot.

Costa Rica’s first game will be on June 4 against Paraguay, in Orlando, Florida at the Orlando Citrus Bowl; three days later they play the U.S. in Chicago, Illinois at Soldier Field; and Colombia on the 11th in Houston, Texas at the NRG Stadium.

The quarter-finals start on Thursday, June 16 with the final game to be played on June 26. For more details on the games, teams and to buy tickets, visit the Copa America 2016 website.
